We continue our ‘How to Fix It’ column, and today we’ll explain the main reasons why users can’t add domains or install SSL certificates, along with solutions to these issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

What Should You Do?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Go to the Domains page in Keitaro Tracker<\/a> and add the domain, check the domain status in a special column on the right.
If everything is correct, you will see Active status.
<\/span><\/p>\n

If the domain can\u2019t be added, the column Status will show an error<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

In case you see the following errors: <\/span>Timeout was reached, Domain returned unexpected response, Domain returned empty response, Couldn’t connect to server, Couldn’t resolve host name, Couldn’t resolve proxy name
<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Looks like the domain has no active A-record. Usually, it takes up to 24 hours to update the DNS cache.
<\/span><\/p>\n

Check:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. If there\u2019s an A-record with the correct IP address on a website where the domain has been bought.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Delete all unnecessary records: \u0410\u0410\u0410\u0410, www, TXT, MX. There should be only one A-record with an IP address of a server with Keitaro. You can check your records at Misk.com<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    If there are errors:<\/strong> <\/span>Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with given CA certificates, Problem with the local SSL certificate, Couldn’t use specified SSL cipher<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

    This may happen when you enable HTTPS in your domain settings but haven\u2019t installed the SSL certificate before.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \"Solving<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Disable HTTPS in the domain\u2019s settings.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Check the status of the domain again.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      If the domain status will change to Active, you can add an SSL certificate by clicking on the Add SSL certificate button (for trackers v.9.10.1 and configuration v.2.12 and higher).<\/span><\/p>\n

      The version can be checked at Maintenance > Status > Installation<\/strong> method. If your configuration version is lower, upgrade the server configuration, and a new certbot will be installed.<\/span><\/p>\n

      After the upgrade, you\u2019ll be able to issue SSL certificates right in the Keitaro admin panel. <\/span><\/p>\n
